I am a qualified integrative therapist and a registered member of the BACP with a particular interest in helping people with OCD, as well as being able to offer counselling for anxiety, depression and other life issues.
My own OCD started to develop at the age of 12 and was to take over large parts of my life for the next 30 years. This manifested as intrusive thoughts in the shape of social anxiety, violence and inappropriate images. In addition, I experienced cleaning and checking issues, as well as magical thinking and a need for symmetry.

My turning point came when one day I picked up an information sheet from a mental health charity. I found I could really relate to what I was reading and this information gave me a sense of power which I had not previously experienced. Some time after this, I began working as a helpline volunteer for the charity OCD Action, where I stayed for 5 years. My knowledge about my condition grew immensely during this period and so did my motivation to begin to manage it.
